And once again-I don’t understand what the problem is. For all the whining from the “shove it down their throat” left, you’d think the President totally caved. He didn’t. All that happened was that the Administration agreed to exempt religious institutions from having to pay for contraceptive care for women. That’s it. That doesn’t mean the women who work for those institutions will not GET contraceptive care-indeed, it will be offered by the insurance provider anyway FREE OF CHARGE. Once again, the Petulant Left proves they don’t want a President operating under the Constitution-something they said all the time during W Bush’s reign of stupidity-they want a dictator that’ll shove extremist Left ideology down the throats of the other side. Sorry, y’all can go to Venezuela if you want that. That kind of shit would start a shooting civil war in THIS country.

Fuck being polite-this is WAR. If we do not re-elect the President by a landslide, this behavior will spread across the country. I don’t know about you, but if I were a gay or lesbian kid in this particular shithole I’d start packing heat. No, I’m not kidding-I’m so pissed I could spit nails. This is from Rolling Stone about Michelle Bachmann’s district in Minnesota where they are trying to kill gay and lesbian kids-and succeeding:
Motherfucking assholes. No other word for these people.
It’s starting to change. That’s the good news. People are starting to wake up. And not too late, either. It’s just in fucking time.

I swear-watching the GOP primary itself to death is a lot like watching the captain steering the Titanic before they hit that iceberg. I’ve never seen so many people so much in denial over just how fucked they are come November. Between Mitt “I’m not concerned about the very poor” Romney and Newt “The moon will be the 51st state in the Union” Gingrich, this is really shaping up to be a HUGE landslide for President Obama in November. Do you think for one minute that anyone posessing a functioning brain-including Republicans-would vote for EITHER of those two? I have much more faith in the voting public than THAT. Cue Celine Dion. THAT is how done the GOP is.

Why is it that the people on Shakesville never get a clue about what’s really going on? They’re in their nice little Petulant Left world where nobody has an opportunity to say anything that disagrees with their viewpoint. And forget saying anything about their tyrannical little world-you’d get banned in a second. I understand the need for “safe space”, and I understand the need for more compassion and sympathy for folks who have had to deal with horrible things in their past. Don’t get me wrong. But the people on Shakesville carry that to an unheard extreme. You can’t even disagree with their stupid opinions of the President allegedly being this pussy that they can shove around. Guess what-President Obama’s not your whipping boy, he’s not a pussy, and you can’t push him around-or did you just read the article about the newest adventures of Seal Team Six? He doesn’t have to kiss your ass-and he won’t. He just ignores you. Just to give you an example of what bullshit I’m talking about, here’s their view of the State Of The Union speech:
And now you know why Obama beat John Edwards AND Hillary
Yeah, they are your typical PUMAS-never got over the fact that Hillary, although she IS a great candidate-had way too much baggage (thanks to her husband) to win, not just the nomination, but the general election. That’s why so many REAL Democrats worked and voted for President Obama-we knew Hillary, as great as she is, wouldn’t win the general election. If Hillary had got the nomination, we would have had President McCain, and you know it. But-did they get over Hillary’s defeat and worked for the President? Well, maybe. But they whined about it all the way. And they’re still whining.
Well? Now the President has begun to kick ass and take names, which wasn’t mentioned. He announced that the DOJ is going to begin investigating Wall Street. He’s pushing Congress on jobs. He’s playing hardball now-this bullshit about the President “negotiating instead of winning” is just that. BULLSHIT. Have you even been watching the news for the past six months? President Obama is not negotiating anymore. You just haven’t let go of the “Obama’s a pussy” memo. And it’s high time you did.
I know there’s a lot of people on the Net who think it’s “cool” to be all cynical and snarky about our political system. Speaking as the niece of a Marine who lost his life in World War II, and the daughter of another Marine who served during the Korean War, I don’t fucking appreciate it. There’s a LOT of people who worked their asses off (and gave their LIVES) so we could enjoy the fruits of our political system, as flawed as it is right now. That doesn’t give you the right to not work for the candidates you support and NOT VOTE. Being all cynical and snarky isn’t “cool”. It’s fucking stupid.

Angry Black Lady has the details…Fucking redneck assholes!
I’m spitting nails right now. How fucking DARE these fucking cowards do this to a defenseless animal?! Who happened to be owned by a Democrat? If I was Ken Aiden, I’d pay for some time on local TV, bring my shotgun, and say this: “Yes, I’m a Democrat. Yes, I’m a liberal. But if you cowards who did this had any balls, you would have come after ME, not the cat owned by my daughter. I’m warning you: ANYBODY that comes on my property again and tries to lay hands on me, my wife and any member of my family-INCLUDING ANIMALS-will get the barrel of this fucking shotgun in their face, and don’t think I won’t pull the fucking trigger. I WILL. And no jury will convict me.” He’d probably win the election in a landslide-Southerners like that. Someone who’ll stand up to assholes who want to hurt people just because they disagree with them.
No reason to get violent, understand-but just showing that shotgun will scare those ball-less assholes enough to where they won’t touch anything he owns again. THAT is how you deal with bullies like this.

I’ve read some grumping from Talking Points Memo that claims some Obama supporters are “overconfident”. That’s bullshit. If anything, we are realistic. Guys, this is the 2010 elections in California, and Mitt Romney is Meg Whitman-and Obama is Governor Jerry Brown. Meg Whitman was one of the WORST candidates in American political history. She had absolutely NO charisma, and was as stiff as a board in public. Sure, it was her first campaign, but that’s no excuse. Brown let Meg shoot her mouth off and be awkward and stiff in public all the way until a month before Election Day. He then hit Meg with his superior money and his superior politics. Poor Meg didn’t stand a chance. Obama’s going to do the same thing, but he’s going to start a lot earlier than Jerry did. And the Republicans won’t know what hit them.
All the President has to do is keep doing his job while the GOP idiots blabber on about firing “liberal” government officials and making “sodomy” illegal. Even Mittens has pandered to the Cracker Barrel in his party by saying he’d “support man-woman marriage”. Considering his past in Massachuttsets, that’s a rather stupid thing to say.
What we want is a landslide SO crushing that the Republican Party will have to get rid of the Far Right nutbags and shift back to the center. And I believe that’s what is going to happen. Am I going to sit back and think Obama’s got this? No. Why in the hell do you think I have this blog? I’m not stupid. But-I do believe we are on the right track. Watch.

Oh, and it gets better than that, believe it or not. Here’s the article by Matt Tabibi for MSNBC:
Heading into the New Hampshire primary, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has a strong lead in the polls as he continues his effort to become the Republican nominee challenging President Obama in the fall. That would mean, of course, that the 64-year-old Romney would be closer to The White House than any Mormon ever has been.
If Romney secures the nomination, he would also be the first presidential nominee whose father was born in Mexico.
It’s a little-known fact that there’s a whole branch of Mitt Romney’s family living south of the border, including his second cousin Leighton Romney, and about 40 other relatives descended from religious pioneers who first traveled to Mexico 125 years ago. These days, the Romneys of Mexico enjoy pleasant and productive lives in two remaining settlements: Colonia Juarez and Colonia Dublan, just 175 miles south of the border.
“He’s got a great pioneer heritage starting with people that crossed the plains going from Illinois to Utah, and then on from Utah down to Mexico,” Leighton Romney told NBC’s Mike Taibbi in an interview to air Monday night on ‘Rock Center with Brian Williams.’ “So there’s a great heritage there of people that had to fight for what they believed in and for people that had to travel to different places and learn different things. I think there’s a vast amount of experience that he could draw from there.”
In his public life Mitt Romney has said and written little about his ancestors’ history in Mexico. In one oft-repeated quote he said his family left the U.S. for Mexico to escape persecution for their religious beliefs.
In fact, Romney’s great grandfather, Miles Park Romney, led that first expedition to escape not persecution but prosecution for polygamy, or what Mormons called ‘plural marriage.’ After polygamy ended, the family remained in Mexico. Mitt Romney’s father, George, was born in Colonia Dublan, one of the colonies in northern Mexico that the Romneys settled in after their arrival. His mother, Lenore LaFount Romney, was born in Utah.
When Romney’s father was five years old, the Mexican Revolution broke out and his parents moved back to the United States to avoid the violence. Mitt Romney was eventually born in Michigan. But the other branch of the family – leading down to Romney’s cousins Leighton, Mike and Meredith – stayed behind in Mexico, their numbers growing. The Romneys chose to remain in Mexico because they established good lives for themselves and their families there. Most of them are now dual-citizens.
“We certainly have a love for both countries,” adds Leighton. “I can sing both national anthems and tear up at both of them. I think that having two countries that you love and two countries that you can serve or be a beneficiary of their service is a great thing.”
The Romneys living in Mexico are well aware of their wealthy and famous relative’s popularity in the Republican primary race. They support their cousin’s candidacy and they hope that Mitt will be more open about the issue of his religion and Mexican heritage during the campaign. It’s a family history they’re proud of, despite the fact that Mitt Romney has never come to visit.
If Romney does get the Republican nod, and the media spotlight of a presidential campaign points south toward Mexico, it will probably land on many of these unknown Romney family nuggets, and on Mormonism itself, the religion shared by Mitt Romney and the cousins he doesn’t know. That part is okay with Romney’s cousins.
“We’re Christians, complete in every sense of the word. I don’t think that any candidate for any office would shy away from their religion. I think it’s something to stand up and be proud of,” Leighton said.
You thought Mitt was unelectable BEFORE? No fundamentalist Christian will vote for a Mormon to be President, so that’s bad enough..but his father was born in MEXICO? With the Tea Party raising hell over immigration, and over Obama’s ancestry, do you REALLY think they will vote for Mitt NOW? Who the hell vetted this guy-or DID THEY? It wouldn’t have taken two seconds on Google to find out part of Mitt’s family was not born here. I wonder if the birthers are going to ask Mitt for HIS birth certificate like they’ve been “asking” for Obama’s. This is hot and cold running hypocrisy on the part of the GOP, and I’m certain Obama’s going to nail them in the nuts with it.

The Republican primary race of this year is beginning to look an awful lot like the Democratic primary in 1984. Here we have three candidates: The most electable one according to the money people in the party, the flashy newcomer who’s policy is not only unrealistic but untenable; and the other flashy newcomer, who is not only unrealistic but divisive. Care to guess who I’m talking about?
In 1984, the electable one was Walter Mondale, the flashy newcomer was Gary Hart and the other flashy newcomer who was unrealistic but also divisive was Jesse Jackson. Mind you, Mondale only won the primary by SIX STATES. That’s it. At the time, veteran Democrats were despairing because Mondale-as good of a man as he was-was a shitty candidate. He had no charisma, no ‘star power’ or ‘sex appeal’. Mondale, mind you, was a great representative of the state of Minnesota. He was beloved there. However, he didn’t have what Reagan had in spades-in spite of the fact that Reagan didn’t have the brains the Goddess gave lettuce. That didn’t matter at the time. As decent a guy as Mondale was, he didn’t stand a chance against the Reagan machine. Hart was charismatic but hinky-nobody really trusted him. With the power of foresight, I now know why, thanks to a yacht called Monkey Business. At the time, everyone thought Hart was great, and I considered voting for him in the primary, mainly because Hart was the first one to talk about booting the Far Left out of the Democratic Party. That took guts, and I respected that-and I also knew Hart was right. I didn’t, though-I voted for Mondale, because Mondale was the old school Democrat I grew up with. I still stand by that vote-part of the reason why Reagan dominated the 1980′s like he did was because of ‘flashy newcomers’ like Hart. Hart was Slick Willie part 1. And can you imagine what Reagan would have done to Hart in the general election? He would have wiped the floor with him. Like he did with Mondale, sorry to say.
As for Jesse, as much as he’s done for human rights and for equality for Black and LGBT people-and he’s done a lot-with the racism in this country, there was no way in hell he was going to get out of that primary as a viable candidate. I think he knew that. His was a symbolic candidacy, nothing more. However, Jesse Jackson DID pave the way for Barack Obama.
They blamed Mondale for losing the election, but the fact was that what people were really voting against was not the old-school Democratic Party of Mondale, FDR and Carter. What they were voting against was the Far Left which still had the Democratic Party by the balls at the time. The Far Left didn’t realize that times had changed, and the political landscape had shifted against them, thanks to their huge temper tantrum from 1968 to 1970.
Say what you will about Bill Clinton-and frankly, I’ve never forgiven that man for signing DOMA, DADT and the disaster to our economy known as NAFTA-but he did realize in the late 1980′s that a Far Left Democratic candidate would never win. Americans reject radicalism. We rejected the Far Left and we also reject the Far Right. We prefer our candidates to be in the center-and that’s what Clinton did, thank Goddess. He brought the Democrats back to the center. If it wasn’t for Bill Clinton, the Democratic Party would have gone the way of the Whigs.
And now, the Republican Party is right where the Democrats were in 1984, the party being held hostage by delusional crackpots, only this time it’s the Far Right, not the Far Left. This time, the somewhat electable one is Mitt Romney, the flashy newcomer is Rick Santorum and the delusional rabble rouser one is Ron Paul. If the American people rejected the Far Left guru Gary Hart and the delusional rabble rouser Jesse Jackson, what makes you think Santorum and Paul will fare any better? They won’t. If the Romney-Santorum battle continues-which it will-Mitt will win the nomination by the skin of his ass, like Mondale did. 25-26 states isn’t a mandate by any means. That does not portend well for him going into the general election. And, imagine the ticket-Romney/Santorum? Romney/Paul? That sounds to me like a ticket to disaster. Which portends very well for the President-and for US.
The Republicans have no clue that the American people have woken up from their Reagan induced sleep thanks to the crash of 2008. They have no clue that they are in the same position the Far Left was in 1984-the political landscape has shifted against them, and the people are no longer voting against their own best interests-therefore, the Republicans are well on their way to irrelevancy. And the Republicans have no idea what an ass whooping they are going to get in November, especially after the disaster called the Tea Party took over in 2010. After the ass whoopings in 1984 and 1988, the Democrats woke up and realized they had to get rid of the loonies. Thanks to Bill Clinton, they did. I’m not sure the Republicans will wake up until it’s too late. Let’s hope they don’t. I’ve been waiting a long time for this, and it’s well deserved.
This is why I keep mentioning Obama winning in a landslide in November. With the economy looking up (the unemployment rate is down to 8.5 % and it’s going to go much lower before the election) and the President’s successes both in foreign and domestic policy, compared to Romney, Santorum and Paul, he’s going to look like a great statesman, which he already is. The fear of Mr. Magic Underpants and the Bedroom Police (Not to mention Mr. Audit The Fed) getting in the White House is going to make those sitting on the fence voters get off their asses and vote. And they aren’t going to vote Republican.
So, let’s do this. Lets get out there and get as many people on the Obama bandwagon as possible. Let’s aim for that landslide. The Republican Party needs to know that they are NOT in the mainstream of America. They need a Bill Clinton. NOW.

The Democrats could run Barney Frank in 2012, and we’d have our first openly gay President, as Dixie Dove puts it. And they’re right. It’s increasingly pathetic, this GOP primary season. They have NOBODY. Newt? Serial cheater who has taken millions of $$ from Fannie and Freddie? Mitt? Mr. Magic Underpants who has no personal charisma? Besides, he’s done more flip flops on political issues than Nadia Comaneci. The REST of the assembly? Santorum? Let’s remember who’s last name is the name of the more disgusting results of anal sex, thanks to Dan Savage. Bachmann? Sure, if Crazy was a political party. Cain? The Pizza Man? Sorry, still not able. Besides, after all those stories of him sexually harassing women who worked for him, he’s toast. Paul? Mr. Ayn Randian? Please. The last person I listen to when it comes to politics is a pompous ass like Andrew Sullivan-beside, Paul just hates gay and lesbian people less than the others, Andrew. He still hates us. Oh-and Rick Perry basically killed his candidacy with that anti-gay commercial. It’s pretty bad when even the American Family Association is running away from you as fast as they can because they don’t want to be seen with a virulent anti-LGBT bigot like Rick Perry.
And they’re old. Old straight, white men (even Bachmann). Yeah, that’s going to really excite the young voters of various races, colors and creeds needed for a victory for either side. Good luck, GOP. Goddess knows you need it. The longer this joke of a primary goes on, the better for President Obama. By the end of this fiasco, there won’t be anyone willing to call themselves a Republican left.

President Obama’s at his best when he’s on the offensive rather than the defensive. And last night’s jobs speech is a brilliant move on the part of the President. He’s got the GOP trapped by their own agenda, and he’s got the PL trapped by THEIR agenda. They’ve been whining about jobs since the 2010 midterm campaign. And now, I’m sure they’re regretting that move. Because the President has just released the most sensible jobs bill I think anyone has ever released. Just the payroll tax cut alone traps the Republicans in their own tax cut bullshit. And the other parts of the bill trap the PL in THEIR FDR bullshit.
OK, so President Obama isn’t FDR. But-he’s unveiled a program to repair our infrastructure that reminds me very much of the WPA and CCC that FDR created. No, there’s no alphabet soup names to them. But, his proposal to not only modernize this country’s infrastructure but to put the unemployed back to work doing it is classic FDR.
Also, there’s the payroll tax holiday, the $4,000 tax credit to employers who hire the long-term unemployed, the proposal to reform regulations that will facilitate access to capital for entrepreneurs and small business and the increase in tax credits to those employers who hire unemployed veterans. This is classic Republican territory that President Obama’s stomping around in. And it’s a brilliant move. By co-opting such Republican talking points as payroll tax cuts (that even REAGAN wanted and never got) he’s sent the message that he isn’t afraid of the Tea Bullies. He’s taking the fight right to their faces. He’s going to use Republican talking points to beat the shit out of them.
The words “Pass this bill right away” will be haunting the Tea Party if they don’t get out of the way and let the adults talk. I basically see a much worse version of the hostility that faced the TP during those town hall meetings they had during the August recess. The President is going to get this bill passed, and if he has to use the American people to bully the Tea Party in order to do it, then he will. This is another brilliant move on the part of the President.
Edited to add something I had missed. But-this is not just brilliant, it’s FUCKING BRILLIANT:
The American Jobs Act is based on ideas supported by both Democrats and Republicans, and is fully paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes and by asking the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share. It would have an immediate impact on job and economic growth, but Congress has to act now.
He’s got the GOP by the nuts on this one. If they don’t pass this jobs bill, there will be unlimited hostility towards them-even MORE than there is now with their approval ratings at 19%. If they PASS the bill, there goes tax cuts for the wealthy. A tactical move that Machiavelli would have approved of.
And they really think an ignoramus like Perry can beat Obama in November, 2012? Bitch, PLEASE.
